As the game is close to its launch there’s no doubt that players must have different questions and thoughts about how Hogwarts Legacy will play. One of those questions being can players be a Dark Wizard in Hogwarts Legacy?

The Straight And Narrow
So there’s good news and bad news. The good news is players can learn the Dark Arts in Hogwarts legacy. The bad news though is although Dark Arts are being used, there is no morality system in the title, so there is no actual way to actually become an evil wizard or witch. Players are destined to be the hero of the story.
There is specifically a side quest where the player characters can choose to learn the three major dark spells. This is thanks to a Mr. Sebastian Sallow, one of the main Slytherin characters in Hogwarts Legacy. He and his family’s secrets will lead the player’s character down a potentially dark path.
But as stated above there is really no true way to be a Dark Wizard or Witch as there is no moral system in the game.
Getting Sirius
Although that’s one question answered, here’s a list that will break down everything confirmed to be included or left out of the title.
- While keeping the concept of sorcery and witchcraft, Hogwarts Legacy will not have special ties to the Harry Potter storylines. It’s an open-world, action RPG set in the 1800s wizarding world.
- Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, the release date for past-gen consoles is April 4, 2023. July 25, 2023, for Nintendo Switch.
- There is no Multiplayer.
- Players can manually choose their Hogwarts House.
- Link a Harry Potter Fan Club account and earn a free Beaked Skull Mask and exclusive House Fan-Atic Robes in-game.
- Characters’ appearances can be fully customized along with their fighting style.
- Although broom travel is available, there will be no opportunity to play quidditch.
- Magical mounts can be ridden.
- Players can attend Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, and Potion classes.
- Spells can be mixed and matched to find a suitable combat style.
- No Microtransactions
- An Open World experience beyond Hogwarts.
- Relationships with other students can be established.
