Crypto analyst Ben Armstrong aka BitBoy has expressed his support for controversial social media personality Andrew Tate, hours after the influencer was arrested in Romania for human trafficking. Tate and his brother Tristan were both detained following a house raid in Bucharest.

“Andrew Tate is a top G,” claimed the crypto influencer and followed it up with tweets implying that Tate was not guilty of the alleged crimes, which include rape. However, not all of his followers were pleased with this support. “Way to simp for the guy being investigated for human trafficking lol weird flex,” said one user. “The family of the ones he might have trafficked will most probably be of a different opinion,” remarked another.

Interestingly, Tate was engaged in an online spat with climate activist Greta Thunberg since yesterday. It started when Tate tagged the young activist in a post bragging about the number of cars he owned. Thunberg, known for her witty comebacks, responded with: yes, please do enlighten me. email me at [email protected]

Tate, then, made a two-minute video as a response to Thunberg. Many believe that this is the video that led to Tate’s arrest as he gives away his location through the address on a pizza box that appears in the video.

According to Reuters, the prosecutors in the case said: “The four suspects … appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost.”

Tate was banned from Twitter earlier this year after stating that women should be held responsible for sexual assault. His account was reactivated after Elon Musk took over Twitter.
