Andrew Benintendi Signs 5-Year Deal with White Sox

Date:

Outfielder Andrew Benintendi has reportedly signed a deal with a new team. The Chicago White Sox have signed Benintendi to a five-year, $75 million deal. He spent last season with both the Royals and the Yankees.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported the news via Twitter on Friday afternoon.

In August of 2016, Benintendi made his debut with the Red Sox. He spent five seasons with Boston before being traded (along with cash) to Kansas City along with cash considerations. He was a World Series Champion with Boston in 2018.

Last season, with the Royals and Yankees, Benintendi made his first All Star appearance. In 461 at-bats, he batted .304, hit five home runs and collected 51 RBI. He also won a Gold Glove award in 2021, and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting during his first full season.
