3 Things To Do Before Pokémon Bank Closes

Date:

Players, April is the month that everyone can expect the 3DS online services to close at a certain date. Now, the company has said that Pokémon Bank will be available to transfer Pokémon for a bit after the 3DS services shut down in April. But, it will go away eventually.

There are still things people can do while waiting for the company to announce the exact date. This article will give readers and players 3 ideas for how to make the most of the wait.

Transfer Any Important Pokémon

Most likely, players have Pokémon from 3DS era events that they might want to see in full 3D. Whether it’s the shiny creation trio, or shinies that you may not be able to get without a 3DS game. There isn’t much time left before players can’t transfer these specific Pokémon anymore. Players still might even be able to transfer DS era events. Players can do this using the transporter (though this may be inoperable now) and then transfer from Bank to HOME.

This is the highest priority item and should be done before focusing on any of the other items.

Continue Working on That Living Dex

This one might be a variant of the first idea, but it bares mentioning. Bank is an essential way of having a living dex in Pokémon Home. If they let their discipline drop at the last minute, they might miss out on transferring their entire living dex from Bank to Home.

So, maybe this point should be called “Finish that Living Dex.” The best way to accomplish this is to make sure that the Pokedex on every 3DS title is complete and picking the ones that can’t be found in gens 8 and 9. Once those are transferred, you at least have one copy for the 3DS title and one for HOME.

Make Sure Any Bank Gifts Have Been Redeemed

As with HOME, Bank will sometimes offer players rewards such as a gift Pokémon or an amount of BP for their investment in the service. More specifically for the gift Pokémon, if they want to send it to Pokémon HOME, they will want to redeem the gifts and send them to HOME before the eventual cutoff date in April.

Conclusion

These are the three best ideas that players could try to do before Pokémon Bank closes sometime in April. There has not been a specific date announced, but players will do well to remember that they don’t have to rush to complete any of these. Bank’s transfer to HOME will still be active for a bit. However, there will be a time when the service is shutting down in or after April.

So, there is very little time left. Let’s all enjoy Pokémon Bank while it is still around.
