00NATION confirm GODSENT trio signing

Date:

00NATION have officially announced the signing of former GODSENT trio TACO, Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer, and Bruno “latto” Rebelatto, who will complete the overhaul of the Brazilian squad after they only retained coldzera and Santino “try” Rigal from the previous lineup.

Much of GODSENT‘s support staff around the CS:GO team has also made the move over along with the core players, including the coach, Olavo “chucky” Napoleão, it was revealed.

Two-time Major winners reunite under the 00NATION banner

The move had been in the works for several weeks, and according to Dust2.com.br, the Norwegian organization originally intended to retain only coldzera. However, a twist came when 9z were reportedly unable to match the buyout needed to bring back their former player try, and the Argentine remained with 00NATION, leaving Bruno “b4rtiN” Câmara out of the deal.

To make space for the new additions 00NATION benched Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa, Vinicius “vsm” Moreira, and Leonardo “leo_drk” Oliveira and parted ways with the coach, João “righi” Righi, in the aftermath a series of underwhelming results that saw the Brazilians struggle to compete against higher-tier competition in three months of the lineup’s existence.

The last straw came when the team failed to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp with a 12th-14th finish in the Americas RMR in April. After getting off to a good start in the qualifying competition with a win over Liquid, coldzera & co. went on to lose the next three matches, against Complexity, Evil Geniuses, and 9z, missing out on a spot at the year’s biggest event.

After more than two and a half months away from competition, 00NATION now returns to official activity as they head into a busy end to the season with the new squad headed by TACO, with the spots GODSENT had earned at the ESL Challenger Valencia and IEM Cologne Play-In having been transferred with the core of the team to 00NATION.

The Spanish event starts on July 1, with the Brazilian-Argentine side set to face Outsiders in the first round of Group A, which also features FURIA and Sprout. The team will then head to Cologne, Germany shortly after to play for a place in the group stage of the prestigious event, first facing Astralis in the Play-in stage on Tuesday, July 5.

00NATION now have the following team:

Brazil Marcelo “coldzera” David
Argentina Santino “try” Rigal
Brazil Epitacio “TACO” de Melo
Brazil Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer
Brazil Bruno “latto” Rebelatto

Brazil Olavo “chucky” Napoleão (coach)
